Pet Portraits
Johanna Fateman of MEN and LE TIGRE is now going public with her heretofore hidden talent: pet portraiture!!!
Check out this ridiculously true to life, gorgeously evocative watercolor she did of Publicide’s own premiere printing pet, Jaques le Petit. (Before being known as a musician, Johanna was deep in the design/illustration game as an original zine queen.)
She’s creating these custom portraits from photographs to help raise money/awareness for an important and groundbreaking project currently in its budding stages— Sweetwork, a radical, worker-owned grocery store in Harlem that will provide employment for kids who have aged out of city youth services. Many others in NYC’s music and art community are rallying behind this project and offering support and incentives as well.

In my no-holds-barred fundraising campaign for a new, worker-owner grocery store in a NYC food desert staffed by kids who have aged out of city youth services, I am offering pet portraits to backers of SWEETWORK PROJECT on Kickstarter.
